5 th week

Thursday I spent 6 hours with my preceptor, 12:45 until 6:45PM I was making up a Tuesday Clinical . We had a meeting with the nurse educator about up comming skills classes .Also about the need to have an inservice on neromuscular blockaids for ventilated pt's . A patients o2 sat was low and "he seemed anxious while on the vent" the nurse medicated the pt with a neromuscular blockaid instead of dealing with the reason his O2 Sats.were down. Another example of my preceptor looking at a problem ,evaluating it ,and finding a solution . I don't know what other actions were used to deal with this problem as I only was present for this portion of the problem .Last night I wrote my midterm eval .I put in my objectives compareing what my preceptor style/model is with theories of management.Because I reviewed these theories of management Im concious of her methods as they relate to those theories. It's been very informative and interesting to be able to particapate and observe her in action.
